4TDW Committee member Troy Hicks will lead this hour of creating and writing with Adobe Spark. If you are new to Spark or an expert, this creative interactive session will inspire you.

Writing Invitation: Sonic Literacy  | 4:45-5:45 ET
4TDW Committee member Amber White will lead this hour of exploration of the notion of Sonic Literacy and the way we compose with and for sound in composition, as well as composing with sound ourselves.


Writing Invitation: Writing Fake News |  6:00-7:00 PM ET
4TDW Committee member Andrea Zellner will lead this hour of examining the news with the eye on remixing news sites for Hack the News writing invitations.

Get Your Writing On With Write Out: Place-Based Exploration:  | 11:15-12:15 ET
A connected learning initiative by the National Writing Project and the National Park Service this past summer called ‘Write Out’ invited educators from across the United States to venture out to open spaces; historic sites; and national, state and local parks to think about inspiring students with place-based writing. This workshop session will explore the Write Out project and facilitators will invite participants to do some writing, sharing and thinking about the larger world of public space, too.

National Novel Writing Month: Young Writers Program  | 12:30-1:30 PM ET
In this introduction to #NaNoWriMo, we will explain the history of National Novel Writing Month (in which participants write a novel in a month) and how we can engage K-12 students in this national phenomenon.
